The Negroni cocktail is one of the most famous and glamorous in history. It was created in Florence, Italy, in 1919. It consists of a preparation based on red vermouth, gin, and an aperitif.
It is said that the Negroni emerged after Count Camillo Negroni, a great fan of the famous Americano cocktail, asked the bartender at Caffè Casoni to change the recipe by substituting soda with gin, thus creating the iconic cocktail.
The classic glass for a Negroni is the so-called Old Fashioned, or short glass, which is low and wide.
